When it comes to administering Botox Cranston shots, there is literally no downtime at all.  You may be a little but red and in some cases slightly bruised but this is rare and only occurs if the doctor injecting you hits a blood vessel. However, you need to know how to rest and heal properly after it.

  • Make sure you follow your doctor’s post-treatment advice. Take note of it and follow it carefully.
  • You will be advised to not bend over for the first 24 hours after treatment or to rub or massage the area that has been treated. It is also a good idea to try and sleep upright.
  • Don’t panic if you don’t see immediate results. Botulinum toxin usually takes around a week to take full effect so you will notice your wrinkles gradually diminishing over this time.
  • Check in with your doctor two weeks after your first treatment to check the results and see if you need more Botox.
  • If you have experienced a little bit of bruising or swelling, holding a cold washcloth or other lightweight cold compress to your face can help ease the swelling.
