Lisa Milder

Doctor of Osteopathy, Owner Operator

When Lisa Milder decided to pursue a career in medicine she knew that she wanted her private practice to focus on the true underlying principles of wellness. Find and treat the cause of the problem, rather than prescribe a medication to address the symptom. This meant incorporating an individualized holistic approach to healing, having quality time with patients, and a commitment to supporting the body’s inherent ability to heal itself using Osteopathic and Functional medicine principles of diagnosis and treatment. After receiving her undergraduate degree with Cum Laude honors from Northeastern University in Boston, Dr. Milder went on to earn her Osteopathic medical degree (DO) from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Here she was awarded a teaching and research fellowship in Anatomy and Osteopathic Principles and Practice. After completing a rotating internship she went into private practice in 1992.

Dr. Milder is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine with the American Osteopathic Association. She is a long standing member and teacher with A Still Sutherland Study Group, a recent teacher with the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, and long standing member of the Cranial Academy. In addition, she is a diplomat in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr. Milder is highly focused on the neuromusculoskeletal condition and its effects on the individual’s overall health. Utilizing very specific and gentle Osteopathic diagnosis and treatment, the body is provided the opportunity to harness the power of its self-correcting mechanisms for healing. Dr. Milder sees patients who range in age from newborns to seniors, for relief from a very wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Often people who are being treated by other doctors augment their care by consulting Dr. Milder for a complimentary approach seeking structural, nutritional, and inflammatory balance to achieve optimal wellness. With this commitment to caring for the “whole person” (as well as her own aging issues!), over a decade ago in 2006 Dr. Milder added another dimension to her patient services: Ocean State Laser and Aesthetics. With a lot of study, courses and continued advanced training, our team strives to provide the very best, safest and up to date non and minimally invasive technology and procedures to help our clients achieve their goals. From fill products and Botox/Dysport, skin tightening and wrinkle reduction, hair removal and pigmentation, we work to help our clients look and feel their personal best. All this and more to help enhance the individual’s feelings of self-confidence and health. Dr. Milder and her husband, Larry, have seven children- four daughters and three sons. Haley, Max, Margo, Sam, Juell, Casey and Henry. During time outside the office Lisa and Larry enjoy time with family, centered around meals to enjoy birthdays, holidays and football, as well as golfing and playing with their grandson, Cody.

Sarah Beatrice

Sarah started her studies at the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts, GA and practiced as a Neuromuscular Therapist for 4 years before earning her degree as a Registered nurse. She has worked as a Registered nurse for more then 10 years and has extensive experience and education as an advanced Aesthetic injector. Sarah is licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Both professions have given her the knowledge and understanding of facial anatomy. Her skills as an injector, along with her gentle touch puts her patients at ease. Sarah takes great pride in the close relationships she has developed with her patients. Her compassion and nursing experience has allowed her to listen to her patients’ needs and individualize treatments to achieve optimal results. Her passion for aesthetics has led her to learn from some of the most respected experts in the aesthetic field. She keeps herself up to date with new products and procedure to provide her patient the highest quality of treatments. Sarah is certified by the Jill Jones Aesthetic Advancement Institute, GA in Dermal Filler, Botox/Dysport. The Esthetic Skin Institute, FL, in Botox/Dysport, Dermal Filler, skin rejuvenation, lasers and medical grade peels. In addition to her professional passion, her love for animals is not to far behind. Along with her husband, sarah has created a loving caring sanctuary for animal in need of a home. She finds joy in caring for her chickens, goats, ponies, and Alpacas just to name a few. Its clear to see that her nurturing personality blends into her professional career.

Katey LaPlante, RN

Aesthetic Injector

Katey LaPlante, RN, brings over two decades of nursing experience and a passion for patient care to Ocean State Laser & Aesthetics. After graduating from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 2001, Katey spent more than 20 years serving as a trauma, triage, and charge nurse in the Emergency Department at Rhode Island Hospital.
In 2015, Katey decided to combine her extensive medical background with her growing interest in aesthetic medicine. She pursued specialized training in aesthetic nursing, earning certifications in Botox and dermal fillers through Aesthetic Medical Training and the National Laser Institute. She also completed laser certification training with John Hoopman, further expanding her expertise in advanced aesthetic treatments.
Dedicated to continuing education and professional growth, Katey has completed advanced cadaver anatomy training and numerous one-on-one trainings with some of the nation’s most respected aesthetic injectors. She remains committed to staying at the forefront of aesthetic medicine, continually refining her techniques and expanding her knowledge of the latest treatments and innovations.
Katey specializes in neuromodulators, including Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers, Sculptra, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), microneedling, and advanced laser treatments. With expertise in both injectable and laser-based procedures, Katey takes a comprehensive, individualized approach to aesthetic care. She is passionate about helping patients achieve natural-looking results that enhance their unique features while maintaining their individuality.
Outside of the office, Katey enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, three dogs, and her beloved chickens.

Allie Layfield

Licensed Medical Esthetician

With over 17 years of experience in the beauty and skincare industry, Allie Layfield brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and passion to Ocean State Laser & Aesthetics. As a licensed medical esthetician and experienced makeup artist, Allie is dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy, radiant skin through personalized, results-driven treatments.
Throughout her career, Allie has held positions as a lead esthetician, makeup artist, and business owner, developing a strong foundation in advanced skincare techniques and individualized patient care. Her extensive experience has allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of skin health and the importance of customized treatments tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Allie specializes in DiamondGlow, PRX skin rejuvenation treatments, mesochanneling, and medical-grade skincare, with a focus on improving overall skin health, texture, tone, and appearance. She takes pride in creating customized treatment plans that address each patient’s individual skin concerns while providing a comfortable and welcoming experience.
Passionate about continuing education and staying current with the latest advancements in medical aesthetics, Allie believes that beautiful skin begins with a combination of professional treatments, effective home care, and a personalized approach to long-term skin health.
Outside of the treatment room, Allie enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their beautiful son, making memories and cherishing time together as a family.
