The Candela laser creates a beam of high-intensity light. This light energy penetrates the skin to deliver a controlled specific amount of therapeutic heat. The upper layers of the skin are protected by a cooling burst of cryogen from Candela’s patented Dynamic Cooling DeviceTM technology.  Candela laser provides optimal treatment to achieve remarkable results

You will wear protective safety eye wear. The laser practitioner will guide the laser’s handheld probe to the treatment area. A short pulse of cryogen cooling spray may come before each laser pulse. The time that a laser treatment takes depends upon the condition and the area being treated.
The Candela’s cooling technology minimizes potential discomfort. Some patients describe the laser pulse as the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. For some treatments a topical anesthetic may be applied to the skin prior to the procedure.
The number of laser treatments that you require depends upon the condition of your skin. For skin tightening, 4 to 6 treatments are generally required. Additional maintenance treatments may be required.
Your risks are minimal. They may include purpura (a laser bruise), redness, blistering, hyper pigmentation, hypo pigmentation, and swelling in the treated area. Generally, these usually do not last more than a few days. Permanent side effects such as hyper pigmentation or scarring are rare.
For comfort after your treatment, you may be given a cool compress or gel pack. Any redness or swelling that may occur should resolve in a few hours. A moisturizer and sunblock will be applied to your skin.
After your treatment, you should avoid sun exposure. Daily apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Additional skin care may be advised.
